Thank you for your thoughts. I should clarify that what I mean by sustainability is the current use of the word by the capitalism system to set a goal and excuse for endless growth, as long as it’s “sustainable”. As you mentioned, our way of life is no sustainable at all by any means, even if we start net zero tomorrow. And we are still so far away from net zero, let alone true sustainability.
Regeneration goes beyond sustainability, and doesn’t actually exist within a sustainable system. Nature is regenerative, not just self-sustaining, but self-renewing. We need to make big leaps now to get to planetary harmony and equity for all beings. Above all, we need to work together on this :)
I don’t aim to divide folks or police people on what’s true sustainability or earth-friendly / life-centered practices, but rather provoke thoughts and discussions like this one so we can all serve Mother Earth and all her beings better. 💚🌻
